My view windsurfing with my son. On the second day we're riding 98 liter Naish boards with 5.5 meter sails.

Winter tradewinds, shallow water and a fringing reef (near the island) make for great flat-water conditions inside. Swell and waves outside the reef make for more challenging conditions. My son is on a 100 liter board with a 6.0 meter sail.

Windsurfing is back and in the Saipan news.

Rack for low-wind boards. Outside the photo is a rack for high-wind boards - all new Naish gear this year.

Sports Club windsurfing rentals. Note WWII Japanese bunker in the background used for sail storage.

The Saipan Hyatt Hotel at Micro Beach is a great site for windsurfing with two rental shops on the water. My wife is enjoying the view from our balcony.
