Red Bull Storm Chase - Choose the Team

Red Bull is sponsoring the Red Bull Storm Chase. Ten windsurfers will be competing around the globe in the most extreme conditions.

I know, you are upset that you can't go. Probably a little peeved that you weren't asked. Well, you can do the next best thing: Choose the Team.

That's right, you vote from a short list of the fifty best wave sailors in the world. Your vote helps determine who goes.

Alain is our guy!

Alain should be on that list. When storms hit the Outer Banks, Alain is the one windsurfer in our group who launches through Atlantic surf to sail in the open ocean. As a former member of the French special forces, I've never seen wind too strong for Alain to sail in. He grew up windsurfing in S. France where the Mistral winds blow.

Hatteras one of the possible spots

http://obxbeachlife.blogspot.com/2012/07/red-bull-storm-chase-coming-to-hatteras.html

Bill's OBX Blog says that Red Bull's Destination Map indicates that Hatteras is one of the possible destinations and his correspondence with Red Bull seems to confirm that. A late Oct/Nov time frame is the likeliest. Whether it actually happens at Hatteras is dependent upon conditions.

The ten who made the list:

Marcilio Browne (BRA-105)
Daniel Bruch (G-1181)
Ricardo Campello (V-111)
Victor Fernandez Lopez (E-42)
Boujmaa Guilloul (M-3)
Philip Köster (G-44)
Kai Lenny (US-1112)
Robby Swift (K-89)
Julien Taboulet (F-100)
Thomas Traversa (F-3)

Kai Lenny is the only American on the list which either means more Germans and French drink Red Bull or we vote less. Well, we do vote less..
