Petco, the second kiter from the right, saved the lives of two fishermen who were swept by tidal currents into the channel. He reached down into the water and grabbed one by the pony tail on his head, and dragged him to help.

Pacific waves crash on the outer reef, but the water inside is smooth. Strong currents and a narrow channel make it difficult to sail out into the open ocean at this reef.
