We saw turtles while windsurfing. When we departed for Atlanta, the temp. was below freezing and reportedly reached a low of 18F that night. More days of freezing weather led volunteers to rescue cold stunned turtles as reported by the "The Times

Philip & Betsey with Barrett & Peggy enjoying a chilly Florida sunset. The average high in Jan. is 62F, but on New Year's day the mercury dipped near freezing, bringing an end to our windsurfing vacation.

Beach walk along Saint Joseph Bay in Saint Joe State Park. The northern half of the peninsula is an undeveloped preserve.

White sand beach on the Gulf. Sorry I didn't get photos of sailing in the ocean on our first day. With a side-shore wind the surf break was manageable. The house had an outdoor fresh water shower for rinsing gear.

Beach house on the Gulf shore. Winter rates were low for this unit, a triplex. After an unseasonable cold snap dropped the temp. into the 30's at night, we were glad we weren't camping.

Al enjoys steady wind. I was rigged right with a 5.9 meter sail and 84 liter board. Out on the open Bay the wind was a bit stronger & the waves picked up.
