It may be CRAZY Wind, but it does look like there is alot of it. I called airport and got 20G26, and 18G26, NWS shows 22G30 at 7:00. It's from the NE. Anybody thinking of going? Van Pugh?

Great to see so many folks out. The early birds got the worms. Interesting day with this hurricane induced weather. Glad to hve a gap in rain. Like Spreendog said whatever you rig will be wrong. I was on too small sail by the time I got on the water, luckily I could switch quickly and get in a few good runs.
In my opinion Van's Tavern is better for a NE than Van Pugh.

It was blowing hard at Vanns until about 2:15-2:30.

I got there around noon and met Roger who was overpowered on his 10m and coming in. CP was already out on his 4.7. I ended up with a 5.0 and the old green Flow. The wind shadow was weirdly bigger than usual but it paid off in another 50 yds. Chris and I were powered up and sheeting out in the gusts with just a bit of a lull in the middle. Nice swell at times over 2'. It was easy to sail way over to the middle of the channel and back.

This was the most wind I've seen since April at Hatteras.

We had a dozen windsurfers at Van Pugh on the water at one time. The wind was side onshore. Gene was on a 5.2m when I arrived. I thought it would drop, so I rigged my 6.0 Ezzy wave flat and was overpowered at first, but then enjoyed 2 hrs rigged right. It was a great day and warm enough to wear a shorty. Lots of fun hanging out & met three new windsurfers who arrived late. I got a few photos after the wind began to drop.

Hello everyone.

It was nice to meet many local windsurfers on Sunday. I arrived late (2pm) so the fun was over at that time. Nevertheless, I am glad I did make a drive so I finally met the local windsurf group.

I hope we will get more windy days this season.

See you on the water!

Welcome and thanks for being part of the group. I missed you since I was across the lake at Vann's Tavern but I'm sure we'll see each other.
