Memeorial Day weekend - Crazy Winds in the Gorge

Destination / Wind report

Had a good trip to the Gorge for Memorial Wknd. Very high winds all weekend.
5.5 and 85L board at The Wall on Saturday...nice steady conditions. (Hatch and Dougs were in 3.7 range)
Sunday - went to Dougs, 3.5 and 70L board...all day
Monday - went to Hatchery, 3.5 again all day and big river swell (6-8ft, nice long surfing down the swell)
Today - Looks like it will be a 4.7 day, heading out soon.
Im all Biggrin

Dave W.... I think you are planning to be here soon....water is still cold, 57F bring a good steamer/dry suit.

Tuesday afternoon was great 4.7 (could have used 4.2 but too lazy to change), good swell, less people and steady wind.

What great conditions! Glad to hear the Gorge lived up to it's high-wind reputation.

Wed June 10 at the Hatchery, another epic day at the Gorge. Things started off big with 4.0 and by 10am we were all switching to 3.0-3.5 and overpowered ...that was a lot of wind.

pro tip: click on Marek's pics to see them in higher rez.

Marek, the difference between 4.0 and 3.0 wind is more wind than we've seen here in weeks. I have no words...

What an experience. Thanks for sharing.
